Pyypl has appointed Mustafa Amralla to strengthen its compliance and financial crime function, enhancing the company’s regulatory capabilities as it prepares for its next stage of regional growth.
Compliance has always been fundamental to Pyypl’s business. Operating regulated financial infrastructure across multiple markets requires robust AML, KYC, sanctions, governance and licensing frameworks from the outset. Mustafa’s appointment builds on that established foundation, adding senior leadership and regional expertise as Pyypl expands its cross-border settlement, remittance and stablecoin services.
Strengthening for scale
Pyypl’s growth increases both the reach and complexity of its operations. The company works across regulatory frameworks overseen by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in Abu Dhabi, the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), and the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) within the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
These jurisdictions have their own regulatory expectations, but Pyypl’s internal standard must remain consistent across all of them. That means translating regulatory requirements into governance, systems, controls and day-to-day decision-making throughout the business.
Mustafa’s appointment reflects Pyypl’s commitment to preparing this function for greater scale. It strengthens the company’s ability to support new markets, products and partnerships while maintaining the high standards expected by regulators, enterprise partners and customers.
Experience across the GCC
Most recently, Mustafa served as Compliance Manager and MLRO at AMAN, Bahrain’s national anti-financial crime platform. Prior to that, he held Compliance Officer, MLRO and Deputy MLRO roles across entities regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), with a strong focus on digital assets and capital markets. Earlier in his career, he also served as an Analyst at the CBB, bringing direct regulatory and financial crime compliance experience to the role.
Throughout his career, he has worked directly with boards, senior leadership teams and regulators on risk-based compliance programmes across the GCC. His expertise spans AML/CFT, sanctions, governance and digital assets, supported by ICA and ACAMS credentials.
At Pyypl, Mustafa will play a key role in enhancing the company’s compliance and financial crime framework, ensuring it continues to evolve alongside the business.
“Compliance isn’t the brake. It’s the engine. Strong compliance has always been fundamental to Pyypl, and Mustafa’s appointment strengthens our ability to scale responsibly across markets.”
— Muhamad Masri, CEO, Pyypl
Built for the next stage
As regulated institutions and enterprises adopt stablecoin settlement and cross-border financial infrastructure, they need more than technology that works. They need partners with the governance, controls and regulatory discipline required to operate consistently across jurisdictions.
For Pyypl, compliance is not a layer added after growth. It is part of the infrastructure that makes growth possible: from transaction monitoring and financial crime prevention to licensing, risk management and accountability.
The infrastructure behind the product
Customers experience the visible parts of a financial product: the app, the payment, the speed of a transaction and the ability to move money across borders.
Partners and regulators look deeper. They need to know that the systems beneath the product are consistent, resilient and built to support responsible growth.
As Pyypl expands, its compliance framework must evolve alongside its products and services. Strengthening the function at this stage reinforces the standards and capabilities required to support the company’s regional growth.
The work may happen behind the product. Its impact is visible in every market, partnership and transaction Pyypl can support with confidence.
