Your Pyypl wallet and card have a base currency (for example, AED or USD, depending on your country). When you payin another currency, such as EUR:
- The merchant charges your card in EUR.
- The amount is converted to your card’s base currency.
- The converted amount is deducted from your Pyypl wallet balance.
The exchange rate used is the rate available at the time of the transaction. In some cases, a foreign exchange (FX) markup or fee may apply, as shown in your app’s Fees /Price list.
What you should do
- Make sure you have enough balance in your base currency.
- Check the Fees / Price list in the app to see if any FX markup or international fee applies to your payments.
