How does currency conversion work when I pay in another currency (for example, EUR)?

Your Pyypl wallet and card have a base currency (for example, AED or USD, depending on your country). When you payin another currency, such as EUR:

  1. The merchant charges your card  in EUR.
  2. The amount is converted  to your card’s base currency.
  3. The converted amount is deducted  from your Pyypl wallet balance.

The exchange rate used is the rate available at the time of the transaction. In some cases, a foreign exchange (FX) markup or fee may apply, as shown in your app’s Fees /Price list.

What you should do

  • Make sure you have enough  balance in your base currency.
  • Check the Fees / Price list  in the app to see if any FX markup or international fee applies to  your payments.
