Your Pyypl card is a prepaid virtual Visa card. You can use it online, in apps, and in shops through Apple Pay or Google Pay. It can't be used at an ATM.
If a website or app refuses your card, it's usually one of the reasons below.
The merchant doesn't accept prepaid cards
Some merchants don't accept prepaid cards. Use another way to pay.
The kind of merchant isn't supported
Card payments to some kinds of merchants are always declined. These include automated fuel pumps (where you pay at the pump), pharmacies, betting and gambling, dating, tobacco, telemarketing, subscriptions that start as a free trial, and games of skill. Other payments may also be declined to keep your account safe. The card may also not work in some countries.
Your balance, card or limit stopped the payment
Your balance may be too low, your card may be frozen, or you may have reached a spending limit. See Why was my card payment declined?
Apple Pay, Google Pay and subscriptions
To add your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, tap Cards and use the button under your card. Keep enough in your balance before each subscription renewal. You can't add your Pyypl card to PayPal.
When more than the payment is held
Some merchants hold more than the payment amount, for example to cover a tip, so your balance needs to cover the extra. Only the final amount is charged, and the extra is released later.
